The Lego Robotics team from Ms. Katherine Silva-Sampaio's GATE 7-8 Science class at Clayton Middle School has been working very hard to build awareness about the declining population of the Mojave Desert Tortoise. This is the state reptile for both California and Nevada. Please watch and share their stop motion video, so as many people as possible can learn about it! Thank you! We love turtles! It was good that you saved the turtles at the end. Save the turtles! I like your ideas on how to save the turtles. It is good that they made a sign that says, "No Off-Roading!

TORTOISES!!!!!!! XD :3. I'm just joking I really do feel bad for the tortoises, it's sad that are in danger. I learned that you can help by not taking the tortoise from the desert and by not helping the predators of the desert tortoise. Not leaving food, or other necessities after you go camping will help this concept.

I like when the turtles were safe! I learned when you see a desert tortoise, stop your motorcycle or car.

It is always a good idea to stop any vehicle to save wild life!

I like your video . I liked that you added the vegetation detail so the tortoise wouldn't go onto the road.I liked your other ideas too.

I learned don't be rude to the desert tortoise. If you see a desert tortoise on the road, STOP your car!

I learned that the desert tortoise is the Nevada and California state reptile. The desert tortoise is threatened, which is close to endangered.

This is a really cool video! It's awesome that 7-8 graders are raising awareness on the issue of threatened tortoises. Their ideas might actually help bring back the Mojave Desert Tortoise if other people heard about it and wanted to help. The stop motion video is cool, too. :)

Good day, fellow commentators, I am relatively pleased to hear the reactions towards the tortoises. Humans really have an impact on our environment and must take care of it, so to hear about another animal nearing extinction is disappointing, I also learned by entering their website, there is the chance for only 2 or 3 out of a hundred eggs living to become adults.

Hello, everyone! I really like the idea of saving tortoises. We, humans, need to stop killing these poor tortoises. I learned that people are going to save 2,700 acres of land for the tortoises. I like that, too.

What I felt about that LEGO set makes me feel like I want to build it and research about it! And some day I want to do it too! I learned that if the tortoises don't walk on the street they can get home safely!

I learned that we have to help the desert tortoise's habitat and the thing I like about the video is that they put a sign that said no off roading near the desert tortoise home.
